Let the Zephyr caress you in a sylvan gait,

Through the slivers of your heart o li’l mermaid.

From lullabies to Sonatas to umpteenth Ode,

O Zephyr, caress her too with songs of abode.

Fondle her with a gentle kiss, Ruffle past her heart.

Spell out the memories golden whilst thee depart.

Paint a smile fonder than ever for her morrows,

Before faraway you run, Melt all my mermaid’s sorrows.

एक साँस मेरी आज भी बाकी है

जो मुझसे ना जाने क्या कुछ कह जाती है.

मैं खो जाती हूँ उस नर्म चादर तले

जहाँ एक आवाज़ आज भी गूँज जाती है.

जो कोना मैने सजाया था

उन यादों की तस्वीरों से

वो आज भी लिपटी रहती है

गिरे ओस की महक से.

कितने मौसम बीत चुके है

कितने सावन बरसे है.

लम्हा लम्हा कितना ये दिल

बरस बरस के तरसा है.

महसूस किया है पल पल फिर भी

कभी कभी उस कोने में-

"कोई खोई परछाई जैसे मुझे

आज भी छू जाती ही".

main kho jati hoon us narm chader tale

jahaan ek awaaz aaj bhi gunj jati hai.

jo kona maine sajaya tha

un yaadon ki tasveeron se

woh aaj bhi lipti rahati hai

gire os ki mahak se.

kitne mausam beet chuke hai

kitne saawan barse hai.

lamha lamha kitna ye dil

baras baras ke tarsa hai.

mahasus kiya hai pal pal phir bhi

kabhi kabhi us kone mein-

"koi khoi parchai jaise mujhe

aaj bhi chu jaati hi".

Pixie Dust: 55 Fiction

Missing you was equal to missing the very essence of life. I searched for something inside the wooden chest. A tag was there with the inscribed words “Hope this Christmas gift spreads pixie-dusts over you”.

Pixie came running to me and we both ushered in the New Year together.

I missed you no more.

What is 55 Fiction? It is a fiction story, with all the basic elements of a narrative (plot, characters, setting, conflict), in 55 words or less(A non-negotiable rule).

Sitting near the blue stream

Forever waiting.

A senryu is a three line Japanese poem structurally similar to haiku. It is unrhymed and the subject is based on human nature. it too has three lines of verses consisting of five, seven and five syllables respectively.

Where are you tonight?

A small corner of my heart is feeling empty tonight. Nothing in this world can fill this void except some long heard distant voice of an unknown bird. A bird that I have never seen and will never see… but the songs it sang a long time back will forever ring in my heart and mind, and this void will keep on echoing them forever.

Oh! Lost bird! Can you listen to my heart-beats? For a change it is singing for you tonight. Here I dedicate one line from one of my favorite songs to you:

"Remember, I will still be here,

As long as you hold me, in your memory,

Remember me."

I want to sing it for you the whole night. Crossing the mountains my voice will reach you. I know you will listen to it from wherever you are.

But for a change I want to sleep tonight.

But oh! Sweet! Sleep! Where are you tonight?

I loved the moment when my tear drop rolled down my cheeks. And I will cheerish this pleasant moment forever. I think it is the same Tear-drop which I have saved in my eyes for a long time.

Oh!…my dear Tear-Drop!… at last you have met your destiny too. Believe me dear… I am happy for you. After all you needed a break from me. And I have set you free atlast.
